Here's why I'd recommend Matt... He was able to extract my vision, the things that I couldn't put into design language... he has the experience to help you pull that vision out, to get the words and theme that you want, but you just haven't been able to articulate... I give him a lot of credit for the process... it was very particular, and I like that. If you want to be hands off, you want someone just to build your vision out, I highly recommend Matt.
Matt is fantastic. I've worked with him for like 20 years, across hundreds of projects, and even built three companies with his help. He stays current, embraces change, and brings a background in art and product design, which makes him exceptional at turning ideas into visuals before diving in. He's flexible and easy to work with. As far as weaknesses, which some may consider a strength, Matt doesn't get attached to the products he creates. If you decide to change direction, he won't argue; he'll share his perspective based on experience and adapt with little hesitation. At the same time, he takes the time upfront to fully understand your vision, and he consistently delivers more than expected. Matt did a really thorough security and backend audit of my app and found a handful of issues I'd missed across access control, API keys, and a few of the third-party integrations. What I found most useful was that he didn't just dump a list on me. He sorted everything by priority so I knew what was actually launch-blocking versus what could wait, and he was straight about which bits I needed to properly understand myself rather than just hand off. He also explained the reasoning behind each issue and offered to help implement the trickier fixes. Would recommend him to anyone wanting a proper review of their app, rather than a quick once-over.
