Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect information about you:

ChatGPT Plugin (“Does ChatGPT recommend my business?”)

Our plugin for ChatGPT checks whether AI assistants name a business when a customer asks for that kind of business. It is described on our plugin page. When you use it, this is what happens to your information:

• What we receive: the business name, website, kind of business and area that ChatGPT sends to the plugin when you ask for a check, and your email address only if you choose to give it (it is optional; the check runs without it). We also receive technical request data: the requesting IP address and the anonymous user and conversation identifiers that ChatGPT provides for rate limiting. We do not receive your ChatGPT conversation or any payment details.
• Why: to run the check you asked for, to show a saved result again instead of re-running it, to prevent abuse with daily limits, and, only if you gave your email address, so that Matt Turley, who runs Continuum, can contact you personally by email about your result. A check with an email is recorded as an inquiry from you; a check without one is not. We do not send you automated emails, newsletters or marketing sequences because of a check; your results are shown only in ChatGPT.
• Who it is shared with: to run the check we send customer-style questions built from the kind of business and area (for example “Who is the best plumber in Austin, TX?”) to OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Perplexity through their APIs. Your email address, business name and website are not sent to them. Your details are stored with our database provider (Turso), and a notice of your inquiry is sent to us through our email provider (Resend). Checks are processed on our own servers. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising.
• How long we keep it: the check itself (business details, questions and the result summary: counts, names of businesses mentioned in the answers and the most cited websites) is kept for up to 90 days. If you gave your email address, it is kept with the business name and website as an inquiry record for up to 24 months after your last check or contact with us, or until you ask us to delete them. The IP address and the ChatGPT identifiers are never stored as they are: they are turned into one-way hashed keys used only to count that day's requests, and those keys are deleted after that day.
• Your choices: you can ask us to delete your inquiry record and any saved result for your business at any time, or ask us not to contact you, by emailing hello@uxcontinuum.com or replying to any email from us. You can also disconnect the plugin in ChatGPT at any time.

“Notify me when weekly tracking is available”: if you leave your email with that button on our what to fix page, we keep it (with the business from your check, if any) only to tell you if weekly tracking launches, for up to 24 months or until you ask us to delete it. We count the button's clicks without storing who clicked.

The plugin is meant for business owners checking their own or other businesses. Please do not enter information about private individuals.

SMS / Text Messaging

There are exactly two ways to opt in: (1) call and press 1 when the greeting asks, or (2) text the business number first.

When you call Continuum at (240) 590-5978 and we can't answer, an automated message asks: "To get a text back from Continuum at this number, press 1. You may get a few messages about your inquiry. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Terms at uxcontinuum.com/sms-policy." We text you only if you press 1. If you text Continuum at (240) 590-5978 first, we reply only about your message. These are the only two ways to opt in. We never text purchased lists or numbers that have not contacted us. Each consent is logged with the date, time and phone number.

Continuum uses your mobile number only to respond to your inquiry. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes; text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Message frequency varies by conversation. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Service providers (such as our SMS carrier) process data only to deliver messages. We use trusted service providers to deliver messaging (for example, Twilio for calls and text messages).

Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our website and store certain information. Cookies are small files stored on your device that help us:

You can control cookies through your browser settings. However, disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our website.

Your cookie choice and remarketing ads

The banner on this site asks before any analytics or advertising cookie is set. Until you choose, Google receives only cookieless signals that say consent was not given, and Microsoft Clarity does not load at all.

• Accept: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set their cookies, and Google Ads may add your browser to a Continuum remarketing list. That means Google can show you Continuum ads on other websites for up to 30 days after your visit. We do not upload your email or any other personal details to Google for this.
• Decline: none of these cookies are set and you are not added to any remarketing list.
• We never send marketing emails because of your cookie choice.

To change your choice, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will ask again. You can also manage Google ad personalization at myadcenter.google.com. We count how many visitors accept or decline (just the page and the choice, no cookie or identifier) so we know how the banner is used.

Unfinished checkouts

If you start a checkout on Stripe and do not finish, Stripe keeps a link to resume it for 30 days. Where Stripe's checkout asks whether you want promotional email from us and you say yes, we may send you one reminder with that link. If you did not opt in, we do not email you automatically.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When we no longer need your information, we will securely delete or anonymize it.
