Does ChatGPT recommend my business?
A plugin for ChatGPT by Continuum. Ask ChatGPT whether AI recommends your business, and it runs a small real check: it asks ChatGPT and Perplexity the questions a customer would ask when looking for a business like yours, and shows who they name.
How it works
- You give ChatGPT your email address, your business name, website, what kind of business it is and the area you serve.
- The plugin asks up to 3 customer questions, such as “Who is the best plumber in Austin, TX?”, on ChatGPT and Perplexity, once on each. The questions never include your business name.
- It counts how many answers named your business, lists the businesses they named instead, and suggests one fix based on the pages the answers cited.
- The check usually takes under a minute. The result shows up in a card in your ChatGPT conversation, and only there.
- Matt Turley, who runs Continuum, may email you personally about your result. Nothing is sent to you automatically.
Limits
- Each website gets 3 buyer questions per day (UTC).
- A result is saved and shown again for 7 days when the same business is checked again.
- There is a daily limit on new checks overall. When it is reached, the plugin says so and you can try again the next day.
- It checks businesses only. It does not look up or check people.
- AI answers change from day to day. A small check is a snapshot, not a guarantee of what any AI tool will say.
What the plugin stores
Your email address with your business name and website, kept as an inquiry so Matt can follow up personally (up to 24 months after your last contact, or until you ask us to delete it). The check itself: the kind of business and area, the questions asked, and the summary of the result (counts, names of businesses named in the answers, and the most cited websites), kept for up to 90 days so a repeat check can be answered for free.
To limit abuse, the plugin counts requests per day using one-way hashed keys made from the requesting IP address and the anonymous user and conversation ids ChatGPT sends. These keys cannot be turned back into the IP address or id and are deleted after the day ends. The plugin does not receive your ChatGPT conversation.

The full AI Answer Check
The plugin is a small version of the AI Answer Check, which covers more of your buyers' questions on three AI tools, the sources the answers read, and a written report. What to fix, and what the full check covers.
